Torah observance for Gentiles.

A place to discuss what it means to serve G-d for those who don't happen to be Jewish.

Hassidic Gentile? Ben/Bat Noach? Whatever you call yourself, you are welcome.

Torah observance for Gentiles.

OK, looks like I have the honour of kicking this part of the board off so I guess I'll start again with basics.
As an Hasidic Gentile (Noahide) just how far should I go with Torah observance, should I observe all the 613 mitvot as a Jewish person would or are there restrictions ?

What on earth is a Hasidic Gentile?

Anyway, there are many of the 613 that you shouldn't or cannot keep; Shabbos is the obvious one.

I don't know what kind of a Gentile I am, but I would love to convert to Judaism.
I live 15 min drive from the nearest small town & 35 miles from the nearest synagogue & Jewish community making it impossible at the moment to convert.
This is why this forum is important to me.
Thanks to everybody who has worked so hard to keep it going.

On another note, I suggest that Poster be put in charge of spammers...He would be great for the job... ;)

Hart,

Do you have "The Path of the Righteous Gentile"? If not, I'd recommend it. It's published by Feldheim. The book discusses the seven noahide laws and their subsets. It's a good starting point.

Hi Jim,
Yes I do, I've been a Noahide for longer than I like to remember and a member of the "Old forum" since about 2006.
It's not that I need to know the answer to my post , I just thought it would be a good starting point for anyone new.

Best.

Hi Hart,
I thought you lived in Aberdeen. Is that incorrect?
