...Who split the Sea before them to make Himself eternal renown?
Isaiah 63:12
In the Artscroll Milstein Edition of The Later Prophets / Isaiah, the commentary states:
The Splitting of the Sea was unnecessary for Israel's journey through the wilderness; they exited the Sea on the same side that they entered. Rather it was to inspire awe among mankind, and to demonstrate G-d's omnipotence (Radak).
Is that really Radak's (Rabbi David Kimchi's) opinion, and is it shared by others?
